Dr. Gaurav Chhabra is a Chandigarh based independent Social activist and the face of Citizen Activism in the City. Known for his creative and innovative ways of taking up local issues and fighting back corrupt practices in governance, he strongly believes in direct on-ground actions. He believes that there should be a scope of citizen participation and involvement, only then a movement can gain momentum and have a true impact. He graduated in Medical sciences and then infused his childhood passion for Visual arts into the field of health and environment. He started practicing Public Health Communications and Citizen Activism through an independent non-profit initiative, Humlog. He is now preparing to take the initiative of promotion of citizen activism at a national level through nation-wide campaigns.Ambar Prakash (2008-09)
With a zest to make films on social issues to bring out awareness and change, Ambar Prakash' is attempting to give voice to neglected causes. His work has focused on creating awareness on topics such as AIDS and the Girl Child issue. An award winning documentary film maker, he works at Mudra Communications in advertising.Ankur Garg and Vivek Kumar Singh (2007-08)
Ankur Garg, a young and enthusiastic advertising professional, is an art director by profession and a creator by passion. An ideas man, Ankur cajoles, entices and enchants through his innovative campaigns. Not only are his campaigns entertaining, they also carry deep rooted meaning that has the power to change people’s lives globally. Winner of the Maneka Gandhi Award for Care for Street Animals, Ankur has just begun, what will definitely be a very long journey in advertising. Vivek Kumar Singh, copywriter, with social issues close to his heart, chooses to use his mother tongue to make his messages penetrate the deeper parts of his land. Forever thinking of new ways to deliver messages which would help in uplifting his society, he is committed to high creative standards.
