Mrs. Rajashree Birla is a director of all the major companies of the Aditya Birla group www.adityabirla.com, which is recognised as "India’s first global corporation" and has annual revenues in excess of 6 billion USD. As Chairperson of the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, the apex body responsible for development projects, Mrs. Birla oversees the group’s social and welfare work. These include sustainable employment schemes for rural youth, their education and training, programmes for providing safe drinking water and empowerment programmes for women.
